Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR) was founded in 1981 as a small café in Waitsfield, Vermont. In 1993 the company went public (NASDAQ: GMCR) and made an early investment in Keurig, Inc.
GMCR acquired the remainder of Keurig in 2006. Today, the combined company is changing the way North America prepares its beverages at home and in the workplace with its Keurig Single Cup Brewing Systems. In addition, GMCR is recognized for its award-winning specialty coffees, innovative brewing technology, and environmentally and socially responsible business practices.
GMCR operates production/distribution facilities in Castroville, California; Knoxville, Tennessee; Essex, Waterbury and Williston, Vermont; Sumner, Washington; Toronto, Ontario; and Montreal, Quebec. The Company also conducts research and development activities in facilities in Reading, Wakefield and Woburn, Massachusetts; and Waterbury, Vermont.
